After 12 months of building and hundreds of volunteer hours,
Tahlequah Area Habitat for Humanity has finished House #15, and financed an
interest free home loan for Urbano and Maria Sierra. Built on land owned
by the Sierra family west of town, House #15 has 3 bedrooms, 1 and ˝ baths and
1,096 square feet. The Sierra’s were selected during a competitive
application process for their good credit and hard work. Selected Habitat
homeowners are required to complete 500 hours of sweat equity working on their
house or doing administrative tasks. “The Sierra family had
completed their sweat equity early on with many family members working with
them on their house,” said TAHFH Executive Director Linda Cheatham. “We
are proud to have them as Partners with TAHFH.”
